Thoughts on New Year

Before moving to the new year let me first note down how we celebrated the last day of the year. This time I had an awesome new year's eve. I made a chocolate cake. Had to go through a lot for it but finally the results came out well. Selva Sir's mini oven saved my cake.Responsibilities were shared and the final outcome was awesome. Debu and Ashu handled the marketing dept, Amit n Raj bhaiya did the decorations. Me and happy handled the cooking. I made chicken curry and grilled chicken. Selva Sir grilled some veggies. Amit's sister Anjana and Happy's friend Moiytri were also there and assisted us in cooking. We first did the cooking part then we had dinner and after that the real fun

began.Ranjan Sir's family along with his brother's family and friends also joined after dinner.Debu, Shauvik and Moiytre sang songs. Ranjan Sir's nephew danced to a manipuri number. She was all dressed up for the event and looked to cute. Her name is Astar. Mangal was also accompanying her from time to time. After that we danced around the bonfire. First we danced to a manipuri number, thabom chamba.
Then some bihu, then bengali folk and after that random bollywood dance numbers. It was all too much fun. Between the dance session it was 12 o' clock and we all shouted the countdown from ten , then burst crackers and after that selva sir cut the cake. after that again the dance session resumed. We danced up to around 1.30. Then we sat down and had some thought sharing for the last year and some resolutions for the next year.

Selva Sir is way too cool Unlike Ranjan sir who is highly unpredictable. Few days back also he had invited us to his place for lunch. Me Ashu Barga and Sir. We had mutton which I cooked and then sir gave us an ice-cream treat in Natural's.The next day in office he gave us sweets and brought a cake. In the evening we did't do much. All went home and had dinner and slept. Next day morning we all (Me, Amit, Ashu,Debu, Lax,Archu, Anjana and Liyo) went  to Happy's place with Happy. We had fun all day long.

New Year is coming..!!

New Year is a time of year when you get a chance to rectify the mistakes of the last year and start everything afresh. But only a very few can actually accomplish the goals which they set for themselves. Nevertheless, with each New Year we never back out and with the same enthusiasm we set our new resolutions. Some of my New Year resolutions are:

First of all, I promise myself that I will talk less and work more. I need to bring perfection to the skills I already possess and along with that add new skills. Starting from web designing to developing applications I want to get perfect in all my domain areas.

Second, Along with work I will also try to nurture my hobbies. I will try to read as much as possible and also restart Blogging which I had stopped midway this year. Photography sessions will continue along with learning tricks and tips every day. I aim to buy a good camera next year and by the end of the year I wish to master all the basics of photography.

Third, cut out the intake of fast foods, desserts and everything unhealthy. Yes, I know it is too hard to resist that extra piece of fried chicken but will try to minimize it as much as possible.

Fourth will be regular exercise and meditation. I kept doing this in an on and off basis this year but from next year will try to make it a regular habit.

Finally the most important thing that I wish to achieve this year is to grow as a person. Learn to let go of things, learn to conquer my anger, be patient and humble at all times and be kind and helpful to one and all.

REVIEW

Thursday night me and Dig had a fight. Not exactly a fight but I was upset because he was busy with his friends and was not calling me back. He called around 2.30 a.m and I was really very angry and so gave a rude response and slept off as I had office the next day. Was that such a big deal ? I was calling him because he was alone in house and I wanted to be sure that someone was there to accompany him at night. I just wished that he would call back and just talk for a minute. Later he said that he was with his friends and I should leave him alone at times. Like Seriously ?? I never bug him when he is with friends. I want my space and always give him his.But still he is never satisfied. And yeah regarding the fight every time we fight he needs time to rethink his decision. He needs time to decide whether he should stay with me or not. We are together from class 12. We are more of friends than a couple. A lot of times we had nasty fights and we were on the verge of breaking up but still we got back together because i think we are inseparable. But now at this point of our age I don't want to get stuck with this silly fights.I think that yeah we do have problems, its nothing unusual but instead of repeating the same cycle of fights break up and patch it's better we talk and sort out our problems and then move on. But this time things are different. I am really hurt. Why does every time when we have a fight he thinks of breaking up. At this time when my friends are getting married and getting their life settled am still stuck with this confusions and fights. Aren't we expected to behave more maturely? I am really tired of all this and so yesterday I told him to take some time and decide once and for all. The thing is he never gets satisfied with me. He has got some issues. I think he is still not over his past and so he can never be happy with any woman. He has a sort of hatred for women. I tried. I failed. Even I think of getting out of this relation at times when he behaves like this but the mere thought of his absence in my life stops me from doing anything. I think I can adjust. I am used to his coldness and his ego and if he is happy then I will also be happy and so I have asked him to take a decision. If he takes a positive decision I will try to give my best to the relation and if he takes the negative decision I will accept it without a question. I can't imagine the consequences of this fight but I know that this one will have a big impact on both of our lives. Let's see what comes next. Fingers Crossed.

Iromba Special

Finally I have started my blog. Searched the net for ideas for starting a blog. It didn't do much help though. All of them says the same thing - write on what you have a expertise on. This led me to do some serious thinking about my interests. Nothing in particular came to my mind at all. And then I realized that I fall into the famous category of people who are jack of all and master of none. So let my blog be random. I will write about me :D. What more can I know better than my own self. But am sure of one thing that my writings will primarily revolve around food travel and photography as those are some of the areas i love exploring.

After coming to Silchar the main attraction of my daily life is cooking. What to make for lunch, what for dinner. Sharing my quarter with a Bengali girl, Happy ,has also been very helpful as Bengali people are believed to have great taste buds.Yeah, am a foodie. Food makes me happy. I love to cook as well as experiment with new items. I miss the drums of heaven of 'Quick Pick' in Guwahati more than my home (Little exaggeration over here :P). The second thing which is equally important for me is traveling. I have been to most of the parts of India with my family. But with family you have to be a tourist and not a traveler so I have made my own bucket list of places which I will visit again for further exploration. More of that on some later posts.

IROMBA
Right now am staying in NIT quarters provided by the office, I work for, C-DAC. Let's start with what I had today for lunch. Well i did have something special today. A manipuri girl, Marina who happens to be a student at our office is staying with us for few days as her hostel formalities are not yet complete. She prepared a famous Manipuri dish called Iromba. Its very simple to make and is very delicious as well. She mixed mashed tomatoes and potatoes and added chopped onion , green chilies, warm water and salt to taste. Just mix all o these well and the most simple manipuri Iromba is ready to eat. By the way they have a lot of varieties of Iromba and different preparation styles. I liked what I had today and will surely try the other recipes of Iromba and will share soon. After office hours we went to a roadside stall which serves capsicum pakoda. They are lovely and we couldn't resist the feeling of having then in this rainy weather. It was a day well spent. Bye for today :)
